Threads is testing a post scheduling feature

Meta’s social network Threads is experimenting with a feature that will let you schedule posts, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said.

Users who will get to test this feature won’t be able to schedule replies. “We want to balance giving people more control to plan their Threads posts while still encouraging real-time conversations,” he said.

People who are part of the test will see an option to schedule posts in the three-dot menu in the composer. All scheduled posts will show up in the drafts folder, from where you can edit or delete them or change when they’ll go up.

Mosseri said that the company has been working on the feature for months, which might be true given app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi has posted about the scheduled post feature being in the works a couple of times this year.

Earlier this week, Instagram started letting people schedule their direct messages. The social network has let users schedule posts for the main feed for a while now.

On Tuesday, Mark Zuckerberg said Threads now has in excess of 100 million daily active users and 300 million monthly active users.
